PORTRAITS

Portraits are for me where the beating heart of my passion in photography lies. To capture the essence of the person who has shown up with all their life and feelings laid bare in their face, is a special kind of experience and one which I treasure in having the opportunity to take. I love formal black and white Portraiture for I feel it is easier to see the person rather than be distracted by their aesthetics, but that is not to say colour does not have it's place. For to discern age, tone and feeling is of importance also and equally beautiful.

Ideal as a gift or keepsake, Portraits should be made regularly. They bottle the passage of time and allow us to conjure up the essence of who we once were and more importantly who we will go on to be.  It's the repeat clients who's Portraits for their birthdays or poignant milestones that I really love to do, as over time they become even more precious.
