The whole family photo session
Booked to take photographs of eight grandchildren - their first professional photograph together for their Nanny's birthday, this session in the woods was a mixture of candid and posed shots.
We met early on Sunday morning to make the most of the crisp morning light and to catch the children at their freshest. I designed the session so we went for a quick walk in the woods first, collecting sticks and admiring ready made dens, giving me a chance to put everyone at ease before I began photographing them.
Aware there is a shelf life when little ones are involved, its imperative the session is kept fun and free flowing. I work quickly to capture the group shots that are priority and the candid shots flow from there.
Noticing so many of the parents were in attendance including the Nan's three grown up children. I encouraged them all into the frame. Never one to miss an opportunity I took great pleasure in doing this. Knowing these photos were going to be treasured for years to come. Making it an extra special birthday gift.
